Welcome! My name is Nelly Matova, but the students call me Dr. Nelly. I started studying music when I was seven years old and I haven't stopped learning since then.
After years of daily practice, lessons, performances, and education (I hold a Master of Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Illinois), I have lots of knowledge to share with you.
I teach piano in person and online lessons -- beginners to advanced level for all ages, and perform regularly as a soloist, choir conductor, accompanist, and singer. In addition I teach music theory/aural skills, score reading, sight-reading, composition and conducting.
I am proud of my students: children, teenagers, college students and adults with various professions and busy life. They all are eager to learn.
Welcome new students! I will guide you, lead you and inspire you to strongly develop your music passion. My goal is not only to teach you how to play piano and understand music, but to learn how to enjoy learning and playing music independently.
Most importantly, I will inspire you to become a music lover and music advocate for life.
Are you a busy professional who has no time to come to the studio? No problem. A lesson in your home is another option (additional charges for travel time/mileage/gas/car wear).
